Job Title: Compensation Specialist (New Hamburg)

A full-time Compensation Specialist position is available at our Head Office location.

Position summary:
Reporting to the Corporate Human Resources Manager, the Compensation Specialist will be accountable for the development, implementation, and communication of corporate compensation plans. This will include the design and implementation of corporate policies and procedures which adhere to current legal requirements and meet the needs of employees.

Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Responsibilities:
-Monitor compensation data and functions to maintain internal equity, pay equity and compliance to policies, procedures and any applicable legislation.
-Ensure compliance with Canadian government regulations and legislation and assist with Employment Equity annual report.
-Analyze and modify compensation policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
-Gather and conduct benchmarking information across positions and the industry.
-Manage compensation management for all salaried and hourly employees.
-Maintain all hourly pay sheets and update when necessary.
-Collaborate with the Recruiting Department to provide guidance on salary grades.
-Lead project to develop job evaluation process and procedures.
-Determine the potential cost impact of job assignments, promotion, new hires etc.
-Maintain a wide variety of compensation information, files and records in written and electronic formats for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
-Assist V.P of Human Resources and Payroll Supervisor during company pay increases.
-Assist with creating and updating current job descriptions.
-All other duties as required.

Qualifications:
-University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration, and/or a Certified Compensation Professional
-Minimum 3 years previous work experience in a compensation role required
-Previous experience with a compensation system/HRIS would be considered an asset
-Knowledge of Pay Equity legislation, Canadian Labour code preferred
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills required
-Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with numbers required
-Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and work with sensitive information
-Advanced level experience using Microsoft Excel required
-Some travel may be required
